This privacy policy applies to the Hearlist app (the "Application") for iOS and Android, developed by Pearlismylove (the "Service Provider"). It is effective as of 2026-10-18.
Saved links and the articles extracted from them, synthesized audio, highlights, notes, categories, playlist and listening positions, and your preferences are kept in the Application's storage on your device. The Service Provider has no copy of them and cannot see, change or delete them. Deleting the Application deletes them. Backup and export files you create are saved wherever you choose to save or send them.
Some features need a network connection. In each case below, the receiving service can see your device's IP address, as with any internet request.
| Feature | What is sent, and to whom |
|---|---|
| Saving a link | Your device requests the article directly from the website you saved it from, and downloads its images. The request does not pass through the Service Provider. |
| Voice and category models | The models are downloaded once from file storage hosted on Amazon Web Services. No personal information is sent. |
| Discover | The Application requests the list of recommended articles for your language from the Service Provider's server (hosted on Supabase). When you save an article from Discover, an anonymous count for that article is increased. No user or device identifier is sent or stored. |
| Report a problem | Only when you send a report: the article's address, the reason you chose and any note you write, how the Application extracted the article, its language and text length, the app version and the platform (iOS or Android). The article's text and any user or device identifier are not sent. Reports are stored on the Service Provider's server (Supabase) to improve article extraction. |
| Hearlist Pro purchases | Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. The Application uses RevenueCat to verify purchases; RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information together with an anonymous app user identifier. The Service Provider does not receive your payment details. |
| Crash reports | If the Application crashes, Firebase Crashlytics (Google) receives a crash report: the technical stack trace, device model, operating system version, app version and an installation identifier. Crash reports contain no article content. Development builds do not send them. |
| Usage statistics | Google Analytics for Firebase (Google) receives which screens are opened and when certain features are used — for example that an article was saved (and whether by sharing, pasting, Discover or import), that listening started or an article was finished (with its length in minutes), that a highlight was added, that the Hearlist Pro screen was shown or a plan was bought, or that a backup or export was made. It also receives a few settings as short categories: your plan (free or the type of Pro plan), whether the voice model is downloaded, how fast your device generates speech (fast, ok or slow), roughly how many articles your library holds (in ranges such as 1–5 or 6–20), and the app language. Google Analytics adds standard information such as an app installation identifier, device model, operating system, app version and an approximate country. It never receives article addresses, titles or text, highlights or notes, and no advertising identifier is collected. Development builds do not send statistics. |
| App updates | The Application checks Expo's update service for small updates to its code, sending the app version and platform. |
| Videos in articles | When you play a video embedded in an article, it is loaded from its provider (for example YouTube, Vimeo or Loom), which handles it under its own privacy policy. Video titles and preview images are fetched from the provider when an article is saved. |
| Feedback email | Sending feedback opens your email app with the app version, device model, operating system and language in the subject line. Nothing is sent unless you send the email. |
These services handle the information described above under their own privacy policies:
The Service Provider does not sell or rent information to anyone. Information may be disclosed if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process.
The Application is not directed to children under 13, and the Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Connections to the Service Provider's server and third-party services use encrypted HTTPS. Data on your device is protected by your device's own security; keep your device locked and up to date.
This policy may be updated, for example when the Application gains a feature that uses the network. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
If you have any questions about privacy in the Application, contact the Service Provider at pearlismylove@gmail.com.
